My name is Anna Elizabeth Bridgforth
I'm a Vienna, Virginia native who has lived and worked in New York City since 2004. I started acting at age seven, playing a princess in the retrospectively appropriative musical "The King and I" in 1992. After years of community and school theater, I graduated from high school and briefly attended The University of Georgia, followed by a performing arts conservatory in NYC, only to leave higher education behind in search of a working education. That started with a lot of B horror films including but not limited to “The Wickeds”, “Kamikazes: A Deathography”, “Bigfoot at Holler Creek Canyon”, “The Screening” and "The Shrieking". I spent a lot of time on the indie New York stage, working with The John Montgomery Theater Company, twice on their production of Bite, once in 2005 at The Red Room Theater and again as a part of the Orlando International Fringe Festival in 2014. Also with JMTC, I originated the role of young Anna in the critically acclaimed play “We call her Benny” as part of the NYC Frigid Festival, as well as in it’s own run at The Michael Weller Theater in 2008. Other New York Theater includes “Measure for Measure” and “An Ideal Husband”, with Big Rodent Theater Company, as well as the experimental theater piece “Hope” with tripNYC.
In November 2015 I premiered a one woman show called "The Good Adoptee" written and directed by Suzanne Bachner at The United Solo Theater Festival for which I won the award for Best Actress. I then had the honor to tour the show to The London International Fringe Festival in 2016 as well as on a 9 city tour of Connecticut in an effort to change legislation to allow adult adoptees access to their birth records. The Good Adoptee has toured all over the US, from Austin to Cleveland to Indianapolis to Boston. Hooray for social activism via theater! For more information visit www.thegoodadoptee.com.
Most recently I executive produced, directed and starred in an excessively personal trailer about artists living with duality in New York called "By Night". For more info on By Night visit www.bynightseries.com.

If you made it this far, then you deserve to know that I have an absurdly adorable mini dachshund named Kaylie who is old and lives with me in my apartment in Brooklyn and has made it her life goal to someday succeed in loving people to death by crawling inside their mouth and burrowing through their chest cavity.
